Why is Vitamin B12 necessary?

Knowing the facts about vitamin B12 is vital to your health. This essential micronutrient affects the development and maintenance of red blood cells, nerve cells, and normal myelination (covering) of nerve cells. It also aids in the production of DNA and RNA, and the production of neurotransmitters. Roughly 1 in 3 Americans are estimated to have genetically inefficient enzymes that help create 5-MTHF (Folinic Acid), so this product will assist with that needed supply.

5-Methyltetrahydrofolate (5-MTHF) is the metabolically active form of folic acid. The folic acid found in food has to be digested from protein carriers or i.e., "methylated" to be absorbed. This process of converting folic acid to 5-MTHF is inefficient in some individuals.

Folic Acid and B12 are vital for re-methylating homocysteine back to methionine. A coenzyme form of vitamin B12, methylcobalamin, is necessary for the enzyme methionine synthase, which catalyzes the methylation of homocysteine to methionine.

Studies have shown that approximately 70% of the population may have a folate deficiency.*

This deficiency usually occurs because folic acid, the most common form of folate in supplements and fortified foods, must be converted to its active forms to be used by the body. The enzyme needed to convert folate to its active form, methylfolate, is called methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR). The problem lies in the fact that almost half of all people have genetic variations (mutations) that reduce the ability of the MTHFR enzyme to make this conversion. Folate deficiencies are tied to a host of conditions and health issues. Discuss this concern with your healthcare provider.

For people with MTHFR gene mutations, supplementing with the already activated form of folate (5-MTHF) is far more effective in providing this form of folate than introducing the pre-converted form to the body through typical folic acid supplements. L-Methylfolate (5-MTHF) supplements provide the active form of folate naturally present in the body and available for biological action.

What is the proper dosing instructructions?

Directions: Place one tablet under the tongue or in the mouth twice daily or as your healthcare professional recommends. Allow 1-3 minutes for the tablet to dissolve.

Recommended Dosage: 1 tablet under the tongue or in mouth twice daily - 1 tablet in AM, 1 tablet in PM 2-3 hours before bedtime.

Extra Dosages: 1 tablet three times daily - 1 tablet in AM, 1 tablet Mid-Afternoon, 1 tablet 3 hours before bedtime.

How should Methylation Complete be stored?

Keep in a cool, dry place and avoid direct sunlight or heat. Does NOT require refrigeration.
