What is Atrantil?

Atrantil (or Atrantíl) is a nutraceutical that relieves bloating and abdominal discomfort caused by gas in the gut. This all-natural product was developed by gastroenterologist Kenneth Brown, MD, and works differently than probiotics or any other remedy on the market.

Instead of just treating symptoms or simply introducing new bacteria in the gut, Atrantil actually addresses the root cause of bloating by attacking the problematic gas-causing bacteria. Atrantíl’s three natural botanicals work together to produce long-term relief for these difficult-to-treat digestive symptoms while promoting a healthy gut.

Atrantil was developed as a response to antibiotic-resistant organisms when Dr. Kenneth Brown realized that many of his patients were responding to antibiotics because of the bacterial overgrowth and methane present in his clients’ guts.

Atrantil Ingredients

Atrantil’s three active botanicals are M. balsamea Willd extract, Quebracho extract, and Conker Tree extract in a unique patented molecular combination. The combination of ingredients was inspired by the way ruminants and cattle naturally treat their own abundance of methane in their digestive tract.

The ingredients are non-GMO, tested and held to the highest standards of purity, and manufactured in the United States.

Atrantil is completely free of milk, eggs, peanuts, gluten, soy, and shellfish.

How Does Atrantil Work?

Atrantil works to relieve bloating and digestive discomfort for three main reasons:

  • First, Peppermint Leaf (M. balsamea Willd extract) calms the small bowel. This gives Atrantíl’s two other botanicals the right amount of time to work most effectively.
  • Next, Flavonoids from Quebracho extract (a South American hardwood tree) soak up hydrogen and create an unfriendly environment for the archaebacteria. They weaken the cell walls—setting the stage for Atrantíl’s third botanical.
  • Finally, the third ingredient, a natural antibacterial from Conker Tree extract (Horse Chestnut), binds to the reductase enzyme in the weakened archaebacteria—stopping the methane production. (Atrantil uses the aescins from Horse Chestnut in the making of Atrantil. However, if you have a tree nut allergy, we recommend not taking Atrantil)

When Should You Take Atrantil?

Atrantil can be taken to treat IBS or SIBO; it can be taken with known trigger foods to minimize digestive distress; or it can be taken as a daily supplement preventatively or as maintenance for a healthy digestive tract.

Different patients have different symptoms which call for different treatments – this is not a one size fits all disease. Atrantil dosage and duration depend on what you are addressing:

  • If you have frequent symptoms, take 2 capsules, 3 times a day with food until you start feeling better;
  • Clinically, patients may see results in as little as a few days, but it may take up to 30 days to see complete relief;
  • If you have occasional symptoms, take 2 capsules with known trigger foods as needed;
  • Some patients like to continue Atrantil as a potent daily supplement for overall digestive support and protection or as a maintenance dosing once symptoms have resolved.

Supplement for IBS Constipation

Atrantil treats IBS by addressing the root cause: a bacterial overgrowth in the small intestine. Atrantil’s natural ingredients work together to eliminate the source of these gas-producing microorganisms. They work in the small intestine and stay intraluminal, where the problem begins.

Atrantil & SIBO

The main reason why it is so difficult to treat Small Intestine Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) patients is due to the location of methane production, which happens to be intraluminal– inside the intestine lining. Therefore patients taking SIBO antibiotics aren’t effectively addressing the root cause of the methane gas: the archaebacteria.

Atrantil penetrates the intestine lining and targets these gas-producing microorganisms to not only treat SIBO short term but also to prevent the re-emergence of bacterial overgrowth.

Can You Take Probiotics with Atrantil?

It is not recommended to take a probiotic supplement while taking Atrantil. Atrantil works by getting rid of bacteria in the small bowl, and adding in more bacteria (probiotics) can actually add more fuel to the fire.

Taking probiotics with Atrantil can cause adverse symptoms and at the very least will delay results, so it is advised to wait until your gut is healed to take them. Once Atrantil has had the opportunity to do its job, and your small bowel is operating optimally, you can reintroduce probiotics into your daily regimen. However, you can continue taking other supplements and digestive enzymes while taking Atrantil.

Summary: Why Buy Atrantil?

Atrantil is a powerful blend of natural botanicals that can help restore balance in your small intestine. Unlike conventional pharmaceuticals, Atrantil can be used to treat IBS and SIBO in the long run by actually penetrating the intestine wall and attacking the gas-producing organisms. Atrantil can also be used in conjunction with known trigger foods and preventatively or in a maintenance dose once the small intestine is working optimally.
